Abstract

APARCERO, Miguel et al. Importancia del concepto de Ganglio Linfático Centinela en la cirugía del cáncer gástrico precoz. Gen [online]. 2007, vol.61, n.4, pp.294-297. ISSN 0016-3503.

Sentinel node biopsy could be of particular value in the management of early gastric cancer in which radical D2 lymphadenectomy may be unnecessary, and minimally invasive surgical procedures could be performed. We present our experience of this method in two early gastric cancer patients, without indication for mucosal or submucosal endoscopic resection. Partial gastrectomy was performed in the patient with IIc+III lesion and laparoscopic wedge resection in the patient with IIa+IIc lesion. By means of the sentinel node concept, using lymphatic dye, D1 lymphadenectomy was done in both patients. During this decade it is likely to see general acceptance of minimally invasive and function preserving surgery, based on the sensitive prediction of lymph node metastasis through sentinel node biopsy.

Keywords : cáncer gástrico precoz; ganglio linfático centinela; linfadenectomía D1.
