MARQUEZ, Reinaldo  and  FERNANDEZ, Saturnino. Enfermedad de whipple reporte de un caso. Gen [online]. 2008, vol.62, n.1, pp.55-57. ISSN 0016-3503.

Whipple's Disease (WD) or intestinal lipodystrophy, is a systemic disease that comprises as etiopathological agent a bacteria called Tropheryma whipplei, which often begins with clinical digestive manifestations and is usually accompanied by a range of symptoms similar to various other entities clinics, considering a broad differential diagnosis. The histological evaluation is the standard method for diagnosing WD, the main feature being the presence of macrophages with intracellular inclusions, PAS positive, in the lamina propia of the small intestine. We describe a case of a 67 year old male patient who had a diagnosis of chronic diarrhea syndrome in study without other extra intestinal manifestations.
