Abstract

MORA, Orlando et al. Incidencia del virus de la Hepatitis C en una población de alto riesgo. Gen [online]. 2008, vol.62, n.4, pp.296-299. ISSN 0016-3503.

Objetive: To determine the incidence of Hepatitis C virus in a group of drug users. Patients and Methods: 80 blood samples from illicit drug users at a rehabilitation center were analyzed during the years 2001 and 2002. Results: From the 80 samples, all were males, sharing one or more risk factors, 2 turned out positives with second generation ELISA test; PCR RNA confirmed only one of the samples representing 1.25 % of the universe. Statistic analysis did not indicate that drug abuse was a risk factor in this group.
