RODRIGUEZ-CARRASQUEL, María; DIAS, Carla; RUIZ, María Elena y GONZALEZ, Oscar. DEEP CYSTIC ENTERITIS: A CASE REPORT. Gen [online]. 2018, vol.72, n.1, pp.25-27. ISSN 2477-975X.
Deep cystic enteritis is a rare entity of etiology unknown. It was accompanied commonly by underlying diseases such as Crohns disease and Peutz-Jeghers syndrome. Histologically, it is characterized by a mucin-filled cystic lesion in the mucosal layer, submucosal layer, and less frequent in muscularis propria. We present the case of a 75-year-old female patient, with no medical history, who presents intermittent episodes of abdominal pain and diarrhea. An abdominal tomography showed findings suggestive of ileitis. An endoscopic videocapsule was performed and a subepithelial lesion was found in the proximal jejunum.
Palabras clave : Deep cystic enteritis (EQP); subepithelial lesion; proximal jejunum; endoscopic videocapsule; double balloon enteroscopy.
