Resumen

Objective: To evaluate the tuboplasty in the management of the tuboperitoneal factor of infertility. Setting: Fertilab ­ Instituto Aller-Pages de Reproduccion Humana. Clinica El Avila. Method: A retrospective study of 179 patients with tuboplasty performed between May 1973 and October 2000 that were followed for two years after surgery. Results: The following tubal surgeries were performed: salpingolysis 77 (43.01%), fimbrioplasty 46 (25.69%), reanastomosis 32 (17.87%), salpingostomy 24 (13.40%). The pregnancy occurred in 110 patients (61.46%), 81 of them (73.63%) in the first two years after the surgical procedure and in 29 (26.36%) after two years. The pregnancy rate was as follow: reanastomosis 26 (81.25%), fimbrioplasty 30 (65.21%), salpingostomy 13 (54.16%) and salpingolysis 41 (53.24%). Conclusion: The tuboplasty is a simple procedure with a low rate of complications, but it needs an special surgical training to reach an acceptable pregnancy rate and is an excellent alternative for those cases of tuboperitoneal factor of infertility
