Resumen
REYNA-VILLASMIL, Eduardo et al. Alteración en el metabolismo de los carbohidratos y lípidos en mujeres que han sufrido preeclampsia. Rev Obstet Ginecol Venez [online]. 2002, vol.62, n.2, pp.97-102. ISSN 0048-7732.
Objective: To evaluate lipid and carbohidrate metabolism, as well as androgenic I anabolic status in women who experienced pregnancies complicated with preeclampsia aproximately I year after delivery and compare with pregnant women without complications. Method: 64 patients were included in this study: 33 who had sustained a preeclamptic pregnancy and 31 healthy women, who had experienced a normal pregnancy. Blood was sampled for analyses of insulin, glucose, fasting insulin resistance index, insulin-like growth factor I, lipids, androgens, sex hormone-binding globulin and uric acid. Setting: "Dr. Nerio Belloso" Maternity "Dr. Urquinaona" Central Hospital. Results: Significantly higher values were found in the preeclampsia than in the control group for fasting insulin, fasting insulin resistance index, serum triglycerides, uric acid and blood pressure. There were no diferences in andogen status and insulin-like growth factor I levels. Conclusions: Patients with recent history of preeclampsia demonstrated signs of relative insulin resistance, hypertriglyceridemia and hyperuricemia as well as increased blood pressure as compared with women who had a normal pregnancy.
