Resumen

Objective: To study the umbilico-portal-ductal system in fetuses with ages between the 20 and 25 weeks. Methods: This was a prospective study on 50 fetuses of spontaneous abortions without malformations, with previous fixation were dissected by means of sections with surgical knife and mechanical and hydro ablation of the hepatic tissue, the vessels of the umbilical circulation to the right auricle were exposed. Setting: Unit of Perinatology of the University of Carabobo and Center of Training in Perinatal Ultrasonographic of the Private Maternity the Acacias, Valencia, Carabobo, Venezuela. Results: The umbilico-portal-ductal venous system leads the blood from the placenta, way umbilical vein that is continued with the portal sinus, from this are born the intra hepatic right and lefts portal veins and ductus venosus, the main portal extrahepatic vein, drains into the portal right intra hepatic vein, the blood of the portal system drains in the supra hepatics veins and the ostia of these next to ductus venosus and the inferior vena cava vein come together in the sub diaphragmatic venous vestibulum. Conclusions: The anatomy and the physiology of the venous umbilical-portal-ductal system is of great importance for the evaluation of the fetal hemodynamic condition, for its boarding is necessary a deep knowledge of its habitual architecture and the use of the standardized terminology.
