Congenital tricobezoar in the neonatal period is rare entity. The clinical evolution of a newborn female with a congenital trichobezoar, the first diagnosed at the Maternity “Concepción Palacios”, in the neonatal period, is presented. The newborn’s mother had a reactive serological test for syphilis. The medical treatment with antibiotic-therapy plus rectal stimulations, is described. There was no need for surgery or endoscope. The patient had a clinical satisfactory evolution and leaves the hospital on the 24 day.
