CANACHE C, Luzardo A  y  CASTEJON S, Olivar C. Desarrollo de la vellosidad placentaria de anclaje en desórdenes hipertensivos asociados a desprendimiento prematuro grave de la placenta normoinserta. Rev Obstet Ginecol Venez [online]. 2007, vol.67, n.1, pp.23-30. ISSN 0048-7732.

Objective: To evaluate the development of placental anchoring villi of the basal plate in hypertensive disorders of pregnancy associated with severe abruption placentae. Method: Descriptive and prospective, morphological and transversal study, with examination of 23 placentas, 20 with hypertensive disorders and 3 from normal pregnancies, in the third trimester, using a protocol that permit determination of the types of villi according to their development and degenerative changes found with light microscopy. Setting: Electron Microscopy Laboratory, CIADANA, Area of postgraduate, Doctor ship in Medical Science. Results: It was found 91 % of troncal villi, 81 % of intermediate mature villi, 29 % of intermediate mature villi, 47 % of terminal villi and remarkable degenerative changes. Conclusion: An accelerated growing of the anchor villi in the basal plate or closer to it is evident in the results with simultaneous indicative processes of degeneration and abnormal development in an environment of extensive hypoxic villi damage.
