Objective: Evaluate the incidence of cervical adenocarcinoma at the Instituto Autonomo Hospital Universitario de Los Andes. Methods: Retrospective and descriptive study, by reviewing medical records of patients with cervical adenocarcinoma in the period from 2005 to the first semester of 2011. Results: During the study period, it was shown that cervical adenocarcinoma represented the 7,1 % of cases, being this an important increase in 75 % between 2007 and 2010 in patients with a mean age of 48.9 years and most of them from Mérida state. The most important histological type was mucinous adenocarcinoma of endocervical type in 43 % of the cases. The 46 % of patients had history of altered cytological study with predominance of LIE-AG at 28 % and AGUS at 7 %. The 43 % of patients were referred for cancer treatment and the diagnosis was made in advanced stages (IIIB). Conclusion: Cervical adenocarcinoma has increased in recent years, most of them diagnosed in late stages, although the cytological screening does not cover the total female population.
