FLORES ALVARADO, Karen y MONSALVE UZCATEGUI, Nazira. Relación neutrófilos-linfocitos preoperatoria como factor pronóstico en pacientes con cáncer de endometrio. Rev Obstet Ginecol Venez [online]. 2016, vol.76, n.2, pp.102-109. ISSN 0048-7732.
Objective: To determine the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio preoperative endometrial cancer patients hospitalized in the Department of Gynecology IAHULA in Merida, between January 2002 - January 2010. Methods: An observational descriptive study. The neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio was calculated by dividing the value of absolute neutrophil count between the value of absolute lymphocyte count and defined a threshold for 2.2 for wrong prognosis. Results: A total of 134 records of patients with endometrial cancer were reviewed, 44 patients were included in the study. 68.2 % had good prognosis and poor prognosis 31.8 %. FIGO stage to relate to the forecast based on the value of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, 80 % of patients with stage I was within the category of good prognosis and 100 % of patients with stage IV was within the category poor prognosis (p = 0.046). By linking histological type according to the forecast value of the neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio, 75.6.% of patients with endometrioid adenocarcinoma was within the category of good prognosis. 66.2.% of patients with clear cell adenocarcinoma and 74.7 % of patients with serous papillary adenocarcinoma was within the category of poor prognosis (P = 0.015). Being all statistically significant data. Conclusion: The preoperative neutrophil-lymphocyte ratio represented a simple and cost effective method for identifying early and advanced stages of endometrial cancer.
