Objective:
To characterize demographic differences among vasectomized, non-vasectomized, and women.
Methodology:
a descriptive study was conducted using a survey. Participants answered questions about age, sex, gender, sexual orientation, number of children, and vasectomy.
Results:
A total of 995 participants were included. Differences were determined among participants according to gender and vasectomy status. Regarding the perception of vasectomy reversal, 10,71 % of vasectomized men, 54,27 % of non vasectomized men, and 65,21 % of women believed in its effectiveness.
Conclusions:
This study highlights the misinformation about the reversibility of vasectomy among non-vasectomized individuals and emphasizes the need for education about the permanent implications of vasectomy.
