Objective:
To examine scientific publications on the advantages of telemedicine for pregnant women in Latin America.
Methods:
Search sources: Google Scholar, Scielo, Scopus and PubMed. PEO (Population, Exposure, Outcome) Question: What is the advantage of using telemedicine in pregnant women in Latin America, period 2019-2024? Keywords: “Pregnant women”, “Telemedicine”, “Virtual medicine” combined with “Gestantes”, “Telemedicine” and “Latin America”. Articles published from March 2019 to March 2024 were selected.
Results:
Of 713 selected articles, 66 replicated were discarded and 38 were discarded because the document was not found; of those collected, 445 were excluded for not meeting the keyword combination and 135 articles for not complying with inclusion and exclusion criteria. Twenty-nine articles were selected, 15 had research results and 14 were considered for theoretical-conceptual aspects.
Conclusion:
This research suggests that telemedicine in pregnant women offers better medical accessibility, medical maternal education, telemonitoring, and data collection for research.
