The macroalgae of the rocky shore at Carmen of Uria, Vargas State, Venezuela, were described in this study. The collection was done monthly during 1998 in three different habitats: cliffs, rocky plataform and beach. A total of 62 species was identified distributed in: 11 species of the Division Chlorophyta, 12 species of the Division Phaeophyta and 39 species and 2 forms of the Division Rhodophyta, which represent the first report for this locality and three additions for Vargas State (Lithophyllum pustulatum, Acrochaetium microscopicum, Coelothrix irregularis). Some ecological comments are mentioned.
