The results of this work constitute a contribution to the knowledge of freshwater microalgae of Sucre State, contributing 17 new records. These species were identified of samples collected monthly in six stations in riversides of the Clavellinos Reservoir during August 1999 - July 2000. The species were distributed in three divisions and four families: Chlorophyta division, Scenedesmaceae family (three species) and Desmidiaceae family (twelve species); Chrysophyta division, Pleurochloridiaceae family (one species), Euglenophyta division, family Euglenophyceae (one species). Microphotographs and diagnostic descriptions of the copies are presented.
