BENITEZ DE ROJAS, Carmen. Solanum section Geminata (G.Don) Walp. (Solanaceae) of the Guaramacal National Park, Trujillo State. Acta Bot. Venez. [online]. 2008, vol.31, n.1, pp.15-26. ISSN 0084-5906.
Solanum section Geminata comprises 126 species mainly found in the neotropics in cloud forest understory and secondary vegetation. In Venezuela, 34 species growing mainly in cloud forests are recorded. A study of six species of this section present in the National Park of Guaramacal (General Cruz Carrillo) is made with the goal to contribute to the knowledge of the flora of Venezuelan national parks. A key to the species is presented as well as taxonomic description, geographical distributions, and notes on habitats and altitudinal ranges. Solanum dissimile C.V.Morton is one new record for Trujillo State and Solanum tenuiflagellatum Bitter ex S.Knapp is a new record for the cordillera of Mérida.
