DIAZ P., Wilmer A.. Composición florística y estructura de bosques en los asentamientos campesinos Las Delicias, el guamo y lechozal, Estado Bolívar,Venezuela. Ernstia [online]. 2007, vol.17, n.1, pp.01-24. ISSN 0252-8274.

A floristic and structural characterization of a part of the forests from Asentamientos campesinos Las Delicias, El Guamo and Lechozal, municipio Caroní, Bolívar State, Venezuela is presented. These forests were inventoried in 0,1 ha plots three in deciduous forests, and one in semideciduous forests. For each type of forest floristic composition and structure were analyzed and Shannon (H´) diversity index and evenness were calculated. In deciduous forest were found 41 species belonging to 27 families were found dominating, according to FIV, Leguminosae s.l. (11 species), Sapotaceae four species), Burseraceae and Verbenaceae (two species each one). The most important species, according to IVI, are Spondias mombin, Tetragastris sp., Pouteria sp., Guazuma ulmifolia and Genipa americana, while in the sub-evergreen forest 26 species, were found to where Leguminosae (four species), Lecythidaceae and Sapotaceae (three species each), Burseraceae, Meliaceae and Chrysobalanaceae (two species each), are the most dominant families (according FIV) and Peltogyne floribunda, Protium sp., Lecythis sp., Ecclinusa sp. and Tetragastris sp. are the species with the greatest value of IVI. The forests were different in height (low to medium, 10-25 m), density (323 - 700 ind./ha), basal area (16,1 - 40 m2/ha) and evenness (0,83-0,95), but alike in diversity (2,64-2,68). A floristic list of the families and species registered in the studied area their the common names and life forms, is included.
