The occurrence of the red algae Herposiphonia parca and H. arcuata were recorded for the first time for the Venezuelan Coast. Specimens were collected between 1-2 m deep, in the months of June and July. The species H. parca was observed in meadow of Thalassia testudinum, in Morrocoy National Park of Falcon State, and H. arcuata from coral reefs in Mochima National Park of Sucre State, Venezuela. These specimens were described, illustrated and compared with related species such as H. tenella, H. secunda, H. pectenveneris and H. pacifica.
