The occurrence of Ceramium clarionense from Venezuela coast is the first report in the Caribbean Sea. This is characterized by seven-eight periaxials cells, each one laterally producing a pseudoperiaxial cell, one to two rows of basipetals cells, adventitious branches frequent, forcipate apices and emergent tetrasporangia whorled with cortical involucres. A description of the species is presented with vegetative and reproductive morphological data.
