Concentration of K, Na, Ca, Mg, Fe, proteins and fatty in the lined catfish Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum of the middle Orinoco in VenezuelaConcentración de K, Na, Ca, Mg, Fe, proteínas y grasas en el bagre rayado Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum del Orinoco medio en Venezuela. Rev. Téc. Ing. Univ. Zulia [online]. 2006, vol.29, n.2, pp.119-126. ISSN 0254-0770.
An analysis of the concentrations of potassium, sodium, calcium, magnesium, iron, proteins and fat, was made in the muscular tissue of the lined catfish Pseudoplatystoma fasciatum from the middle Orinoco in Venezuela, as a contribution to the knowledge of the ecofisiology of the species and of its importance from the nutritious point of view. The salts were analyzed by Espectrofotometría of Atomic Absorption with flame of air-acetylene and correction of deuterium bottom, using a team Perkin Elmer 3100 coupled with an automuestreador Perkin-Elmer ACE-51. The percentages of proteins and fat were determined by the method of Weede (Official Methods of Analysis, AOAC). An average 26,03 ± 5,08 µg/g was determined in the iron concentration, 387,05 ± 33,38µg/g in the concentration of calcium, 951,00 ± 236,04 µg/g in the concentration of magnesium, 1386,73 ± 47,39 µg/g in the concentration of sodium, and 11626,41 ± 365,23 µg/g in the concentration of potassium. The average in the concentration of proteins was of 18,1 ± 0,12% and that of fat 0,85 ± 0,03%.
