Resumen

PEDRIQUE P, Francisco; ALDANA V, Gerardo; RINCON, Nancy  y  BRACHO, Nibis. Use of an experimental concentric anaerobic reactor to plug flow to treat brewing efluent. Rev. Téc. Ing. Univ. Zulia [online]. 2007, vol.30, n.Especial, pp.36-47. ISSN 0254-0770.

Experimental concentric anaeróbic reactor to achieve plug flow (RECAFP) on scale was designed to pilot scale to treat an effluent from an internal recirculation reactor (IC) that degrades water industrial from local brewery. Volumetric loads (COD mass volume) were controlled laid-down so that the speeds keep below 0.004 m/s, assuring a hydraulic calm that it maintains the microbial mass within the reactor and varied from 0.18 to 2.8 KgCOD.m-3.d-1, as function of hydraulic retention time (HRT), it which was between 6 hours up to 4 days. Results showed that the optimal HRT was for 4 days and maximum removal of 64% for COD, 55% in TSS and 73% for Turbidity with a 0.155 COD volume of kgCOD.m-3.d-1 Optimal removal efficiency was obtained for COD 40%, TSS 49% and turbidity 58%. Organic matter constant biodegradable of COD (k) was 0,2652d-1, rate of anaeróbic mud growth was 0.0956 cm/d. and AME himself was of 0.1 gCOD/gVSS.d. Conclusion showed that the RECAFP was an effective post treatment and when it being used as combination with a IC reactor could reach an efficiency of removal for COD higher to 83% to brewing waters.
