Abstract
CHAGOYEN MENDEZ, César A; GONZALEZ MARTINEZ, David; ARAGON LOPEZ, Gregorio B and LEIVA PEREZ, José. Linking numerical simulations with test experiences and its application to a railroad bridge. Rev. Téc. Ing. Univ. Zulia [online]. 2013, vol.36, n.2, pp.132-142. ISSN 0254-0770.
This paper introduces the benefits of linking Finite Elements Analysis and laboratory testing experiences in structural analysis. One particular case is studied: the static analysis of a railroad bridge metallic structure. A procedure for calibrating the analysis model is introduced, using mesh sensibility analysis and strain gage measurements, achieving considerable improvements in the application of both approaches.
Keywords : bridge; simulation; modeling; structural analysis; strength of materials.
