Abstract
ALVAREZ-LUNA, M et al. Using statistical techniques to evaluate the surface roughness in 316LVM stainless steel probe subjected to comparative abrasive wear. Rev. Téc. Ing. Univ. Zulia [online]. 2015, vol.38, n.1, pp.20-29. ISSN 0254-0770.
In this paper is shown a study using statistical techniques of the characterization results through atomic force microscopy (AFM) of the parameters of surface finish on Sandvik Bioline 316LVM stainless steel probes, subjected to abrasive wear. Descriptive data analysis is used to characterize the measurements, their central tendencies (means) and variability (standard deviation). The comparisons in the first part are performed using non-parametric tests (ANOVA Kruskal-Wallis) to contrast the levels of roughness acquired in each type of specimen from the three levels of fraction. There is also used the nonparametric Mann-Whitney test to compare the means ranges for every pair of groups. The second part is focused on data, considering paired samples to form a design that responds to a populations comparison schema (nonparametric and parametric). Statistical techniques are applied to compare, with a high degree of reliability, the surface roughness of the specimens. There are also considered the abrasiveness characteristics of the abrasive powders used (aAl2O3 and aSiC-aAl2O3).
