Abstract

VILLEGAS AGUILERA, Ricardo A  and  VILLEGAS NOGUERA, Ángel L. Operative recovery of a mobile C-arm fluoroscopy system. Rev. Téc. Ing. Univ. Zulia [online]. 2015, vol.38, n.1, pp.64-72. ISSN 0254-0770.

This work presents a functional recovery of a portable fluoroscope, which was inoperative due to damages in the video memory unit. The implemented hardware/software solution includes replacing the video memory module, implementing a controller card to activate the image acquisition process, splitting the video signal toward two displays through a graphical expansion module, and developing a software application for capturing, processing and storing the images. This solution made it possible to recover the device’s operability while keeping the required functionality of its input and output peripherals, extending its storage capability, improving the software features and interface, and reducing replacement costs.

Keywords : clinical engineering; fluoroscopy; microcontrollers; software development.
