Resumen

Biokinetics parameters governing the biochemical oxygen demand in wastewater from crabs processing industry in the zulian region were determined. The purpose of this study was to obtain data values of biodegradation constants and the last demand to consult at the time of the design of a water treatment plant or any other study of them. The methodology was experimental with experimental design of field type, since the data were collected directly from reality, with the purpose of obtaining the values of the parameters; which through methods of slope Thomas method, moments Moore’s method and the graphical Fujimoto method were determined, at temperatures of 20°C, which is the standard and temperature 33°C because is temperature similar to the region. Methods that best fitted to the analysis were the slope of Thomas method and Fujimoto method. The values of k and L obtained were k20=0,078 d-1; k33=0,097 d-1 and L20=404 mg/L; L33=414 mg/L respectively, which allowed to propose the equation k33=k20(1,021)33-20.
