This work is aimed at critically analyzing the deficiencies and limitations of the processes intervening in the architecture’s monologic practice. The production and reproduction of self-built habitat in Caracas is investigated, in order to deepen the knowledge of its reality as a place to live. The article relies on the tenets of hermeneutic philosophy that proposes a way of interpretation for the understanding of reality, emphasizing the incorporation of the other’s view in the processes of shaping the places to live. The article also relies on the contributions of Batjin’s dialogic theory and Muntañola’s studies, who propose an architecture based on social dialogic, thereby bridging hermeneutic philosophy, social sciences and architecture.
