This article departs from an intuition that whispers affinities between spaces and persons, objects and chores. Such intuition is found in phenomenologists such as Bachelard as well as in social scientists like Augé and Fernández-Chrislieb. Those affinities are interesting here insofar as they take place in kitchens, while are voiced by their cooks. We briefly refer to some memories that reprove, others that vindicate and one that cherishes theimage of a-woman-that-cooks. The article finally portrays some forms in which the souls of the cooks and their kitchens are mutually spiced, prepared and decorated. We have listened and given meaning to those forms, as well as named them in couples
