Abstract

CABRERA, Adriana. Counted Crimes: Urban Center and Outskirts from Violence And Crime, in New Authors of Venezuelan Noir Narrative. Argos [online]. 2012, vol.29, n.56, pp.17-39. ISSN 0254-1637.

The present article deals with the examination of a group of Venezuelan noir tales appeared in the last five years. First, we establish their antecedents and explain the preference for this generic denomination. Then, we analyze a feature that we have found interesting from our perspective: the preponderance of national territory margins, along with crime as an element of the narrative construction of housing entities, neither urban nor rural, on the outskirts of town.

Keywords : noir narrative; venezuelan narrative; identity; urban center; outskirts.
