This paper begins with the conception of Venezuelan historical novel, published in the XXI century, as a genealogy that claims to narrate the past and negotiate the existence of certain identities of today’s Venezuela. This genealogy is born thanks to the social and political mobilization in the country in the last decade. It is the novel Bajo las ruedas del tiempo (2008), by Carmen Vincenti. A book written by an erudite woman, whose transit within the Venezuelan intellectual field has been marked by the singularity. As a result, she has opened spaces for the visibility of subjectivities and circumstances not considered in the historical record and contemporary literary publication of his novel.
