ABSTRACT The physical-chemical characterization of the both sides sediments of the general distributor of potable water in the Zimapan city is realized with the purpose of verify the relation with the origin of the supply. The analysis realizated during ten months, show high contents of silicon (like SiO 2 ), iron, aluminum, arsenic, calcium and manganese. Before the absence of specific normative to determinate the dangerous index of this samples , the studies have been realized with the Tessier an BCR schemes, the results demonstrate that the most toxic components lixiviate in the first portions and easy of course. The comparison with the results of the water samples indicate the existence of the lixiviation process, this is specially dangerous in the case of the arsenic, because this element can reach levels of the eleven percent.
