Abstract

SANDOVAL, Diego M; GAONA J, Sonia  and  CANEIRO, Alberto. Síntesis y caracterización de Hexaferrita de bario por el método de combustión. Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2008, vol.28, n.1, pp.29-37. ISSN 0255-6952.

Barium ferrite powders were successfully synthesized by combustion process. Stoichiometric amounts of barium nitrate and iron nitrate were used. For barium ferrites samples with 11.5 Fe/Sr ratio, was studied the effect of the pH values and different annealing temperatures, over theirs magnetic properties. It was found that by using the combustion method it is possible to obtain a pure phase of barium ferrite with high values of magnetic saturation and magnetic remaining. The crystalline structure and the magnetic properties of the barium ferrites were studied by means of X-ray diffraction, infrared ray spectra and magnetic hysteresis loop.

Keywords : Combustion process; Barium ferrite; Fe/Ba ratio.
