Resumen
GARIN, Jorge L; MANNHEIM, Rodolfo L y CAMUS, Manuel A. Estudio sobre la disolución de fase sigma en un acero dúplex S31803. Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2010, vol.30, n.1, pp.46-53. ISSN 0255-6952.
The present article describes the microstructural characteristics of formation and further dissolution of sigma-phase in a S31806 duplex steel. The experimental procedure was carried out by annealing of sigma-bearing specimens at temperatures within the range from 1173 K to 1323 K. The main results show that the transformation of sigma-phase into ferrite does not longer proceed at temperatures below 1173 K, while the increase of temperature above that level increases the dissolution rate, which reaches completion after heating for 1 hour at 1323 K. During the process the content of austenite remains approximately constant.
