Abstract
MUNOZ, Aarón; PORRAS, Luis; AQUINO, Samuel and MOLERO, Hebert. Implementación de la prueba de hartmann para el estudio de textura de superficies metálicas. Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2011, vol.31, n.1, pp.85-90. ISSN 0255-6952.
The test of Hartmann is an optical test that is used for the study of cross-sectional aberrations in optical systems. We present a modification of this optical test designed to serve as a quality assurance tool during the surface preparation of 316L stainless steel substrates to a mirror quality, when metallographic methods are employed. We used a digital camera to obtain the Hartmanns patterns which were later analyzed by means of a computer program, developed in MATLab®, which quantified the intensity and the homogeneity of the surface of each one of the substrates studied, by calculating the average and the average quadratic deviation of the intensity of the Hartmanns patterns, respectively. The modification of this optical test was found to be useful for the determination of the preparation quality of metallic surfaces in both, a quantitative and a qualitative manner
