Abstract

LEONARDO, Yuliana; ALVAREZ, Ruth; OCANTO, Freddy  and  LINARES, Carlos F. SYNTHESIS AND CHARACTERIZATION OF CO/MO AND NIMO/PALE BLUE ULTRAMARINE AND THEIR USE ON THE HYDRODESULPHURATION REACTION OF THIOPHENE. Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2011, vol.31, n.2, pp.161-167. ISSN 0255-6952.

HDS reactions are useful in the industry, offering simple alternatives to remove noxious heteroatoms for environmental like sulphur. This work studied the catalytic activity of HDS of thiophene using NiMo and NiMo supported in pale blue ultramarines-type structures. Experiments became with the synthesis of support using zeolite A, Na2CO3 and elemental S as starting material using a Na2/S molar ratio equal to 1. The catalytic precursors were characterized by FT-IR, X-ray diffraction and UV-reflactance. These techniques allowed characterizing the structure´s type, colour and its behaviour in the catalytic reaction of HDS of thiophene. Results showed that NiMo/ pale blue ultramarine was more active that CoMo/ pale blue ultramarine. Likewise, it was determined a less catalytic deactivactivation using CoMo/ pale blue ultramarine
