Abstract

ROA-RODRIGUEZ, G.; APERADOR, W.  and  VERA, Rosa. SOFTWARE TO CALCULATE THE RATE OF DETERIORATION OF CONCRETE EXPOSED TO CARBONATION. Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2014, vol.34, n.1, pp.45-54. ISSN 0255-6952.

The aim of this paper is to bring forward a software development which allows the calculation of the carbonation depth of concrete obtained by cementing such as Portland, alkali activated slag (100%) and the mixtures obtained from the addition of pozzolanic materials such as silica fume, metakaolin, fly ash, etc. The calculation of the carbonation depth of concrete is made by the software using two different equations. The first equation uses general mathematical model of all physical and chemical processes that involved in concrete carbonation and the second equation uses the amount of cementitious and pozzolanic reaction of cementitious materials.

Keywords : Carbonation depth; cementitious materials; pozzolanic reaction; Papadakis equation; Portland concrete; carbon dioxide concentration..
