Abstract
SCHEFFEL, Pier et al. Stainless steels as anodizing surface treatment for obtaining porous structures . Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2014, vol.34, n.2, pp.189-195. ISSN 0255-6952.
The aim of this work is to obtain a porous structure in ferritic stainless steel (AISI-430) by anodization process. The anodization method is highly useful in processes for forming a decorative porous oxide film of various colors. In this context, ferritic stainless steels was anodized in a commercial electrolyte INCO (CrO3 [2,5 M] + H2SO4 [2,5 M]), appling a continuous current, varyng the anodization time, to get a porous structure. Systems are characterized by the electrochemical behavior means polarization curves and monitoring the open circuit potential (OCP). Morphological behavior was assessed by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). Results show that the anodizing time does not affect the electrochemical behavior in all systems and that these form a porous structure, moreover verified that the dissolving process is more intense than the formation of oxides
