Abstract

CABELLO, Christian J et al. Modification of multi-wall carbon nanotubes (MWNTC's) using acetic acid and aniline by ultrasonic radiation. Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2015, vol.35, n.1, pp.27-33. ISSN 0255-6952.

This work shows the study of surface modification of MWNTC's (multipled-walled carbon nanotubes) using acetic acid and aniline, assisted by ultrasound. The MWNTC's modified were characterized by FT-IR(ATR) spectroscopy, where we see the characteristic signs of carboxylic acids and amines. Another characterization was carried out measuring of the contact angle of unmodified and modified MWNTC´s. We measured the turbidity of various solutions of MWNTC's modified in diverse solvents. Demonstrating the surface modification of the MWNTC's with acetic acid and aniline. And finally SEM images of the modifications made were obtained.

Keywords : MWNTC's; Ultrasound; Dispersion; Modification.
