Abstract
CASTANEDA, Abel; CORVO, Francisco; HOWLAND, Juan. J and MARRERO, Rigoberto. Study of the atmospheric corrosion aggresivity to reinforcing steel in the reinforced concrete in Hava City. Rev. LatinAm. Metal. Mater. [online]. 2015, vol.35, n.2, pp.173-188. ISSN 0255-6952.
The corrosion aggressivity levels of the atmosphere to reinforced steel in different quality of reinforced concrete and recovering thickness were set in this study. It was demonstrated that, the atmospheric corrosion aggressivity level very high (C5) estimated for the main metallic materials commonly used in construction industry can be considered to the reinforcing steel too, depending on the reinforced concrete quality and the recovering thickness. On the other hand, the artificial and natural screening effect in a coastal city as Havana, influence in the chloride deposition performance, being representative in the extension decrease of the atmospheric corrosion aggressivity level very high, not only for the reinforcing steel in the reinforced concrete, but also to mains metallic material more used in the construction industry.
Keywords : screening; corrosion aggressivity; reinforcing steel; reinforced concrete.
