Abstract

In the last 15 year 531 children attended the Pediatric Surgery Department of the Hospital San Juan de Dios for mictional dysfunctions. In group A are 309 children (58.19%) with neurogenic bladder. In group B 222 children (41.8%) without evidence of neuropathy showed different mictional symptoms. Only 11.09% in group A were under 2 years of age and 20.34% of the group had upper tract pathology, bilateral in more than the half of them. Group B attended because urinary tract infection plus mictional disturbances (44.14%), enuresis (25.67%), incontinence (21.62%) and miscellaneous symptoms (8.55%). The paper points out abnormalities in imagenology and urodynamic findings in group B.
