Resumen
CASTEJON S, Olivar C et al. La variabilidad morfológica de la vellosidad placentaria hidrópica. Gac Méd Caracas [online]. 2002, vol.110, n.2, pp.210-216. ISSN 0367-4762.
Our propasal is to distinguish the diversity of forms of the placental hydropic villi in cases of abortion, hydatidiform mole and placental mesenchymal dysplasia throughout a serie of images with light microscopy and scanning electron microscopy. Vesicular villi of different forms obtained by curettage were observed with routine 5 µm thick sections stained with hematoxilin eosine and observed with scanning electron microscopy. These results in micrographs image showed the histopathologic distinction between the three types of lesions based on pathologic criteria mentioned in the literature. Because there are differences in the origin, morphology, and natural history of hydropic placental villous tissues it is important to identify and document rare specimens that deviate from the serie of cases here presented.
