Paraesophageal hernias accounts 5 % of all esophageal hiatus defects and it’s surgical repair is the only definitive treatment available. In the present paper a laparoscopic technique for the correction of giant paraesophagical hernia used in two patients with good results is described. We also comment others surgical options doing emphasis in the controversial technical aspects that this kind of surgery have.
