CASTEJON S, Olivar C y MOLINARO V, María P. Cambios degenerativos coriónicos y su relación con desórdenes hipertensivos en casos de desprendimiento prematuro grave de placenta normoinserta. Gac Méd Caracas [online]. 2003, vol.111, n.2, pp.117-122. ISSN 0367-4762.
To identify and to evaluate degenerative changes in the placental parenchyma in relationship with hypertensive disorders associated to severe abruption placentae is the aim of this work. Ten placentas were taken from seven patients with hypertensive disorders and three without hypertension. Lesions were collected from chorionic plate, villi, vessels and intervillous space near to the surface of placental separation with light microscopy to determine if such hystopathological changes are under the influence of maternal blood pressure status. The findings exhibit increased presence of edema, necrosis, polymorphonuclears, fibrinoid, infarcts, syncytial knots, stromal fibrosis, changes and inflammation of the vessel wall which were increased in placentae of hypertense pacients. These lesions are associated to an increased area of placental separation in placentas of such pacients.
