Summary Material of a placenta from pregnancy with diagnostic of placental mesenchymal dysplasia at 27 gestations week and fetal dolicocephaly was obtained to be processed by scanning electron microscopy previous macroscopic and microscopic analysis. The macroscopic analysis showed placentomegaly, hydropic stem villi between 2 and 35mm of size, chorionic plate compressed retroplacental hematoma, infarcts, thrombosed fetal vessels and marginal insertion of umbilical cord. The microscopic analysis exhibited invaginations of hypotrophic trophoblast ocassionally hyperplasic. Proliferation of cells like to myofibroblast and aneurysmal vessels surrounding of clear stromal regions without macrophagues. Besides scanty syncitial sprouts, degenerative changes of the trophoblast, basal membrane fenestrated, stromal vessels with different diameters, cisternal region limited by cells like to myofibroblasts. This new three-dimensional vision of placental mesenchymal hyperplasia contributes with the morphologic post natal diagnostic of this vascular malformation of mesodermic origin
