The births and tendencies were studied from 1969 to 2004 in the Hospital “Dr. Adolfo Prince Lara”, Puerto Cabello, Estado Carabobo. There were 120 907 normal births, 97 813 childbirths, 21 729 cesareans and 1 346 forceps. The normal childbirth had a tendency to declivity throughout the period, with reduction of global variation percent 25.61 %, the minimum ranks were 94.02 % to 68.11 %; global logarithm tendency to reduction. Cesarean showed frank tendency to increase 7.4 times in all period, with minimum ranks from 4.59 % to 34 %; global logarithm tendency to ascend. The instrumental childbirth with forceps, clear tendency to disuse, variation percent 94.93 %, evident in last years, extreme ranks 3.15 % and 0.06 %, global logarithm tendency to reduction. The births showed tendency to resolution by caesarean, and there were decrement of the vaginal childbirth and use of forceps. It’s necessary to implement a norm gram that justifies each caesarean and facilitated the vaginal attendance.
