When tubular steel elements are subject to strong excitements of static or dynamic nature local buckling can be produced able to cause the resistance loss and stiffness loss and even the collapse of the elements. This work has as main purpose to propose an approximate methodology for the calculation of the moment - curvature and moment - rotation diagrams for tubular steel elements of hollow section with relationship side - thickness greater than 30, which can be used as behavior models of beam elements in analysis programs.
