Abstract The natural phenomena of the afternoon of the March 26th 1812 have aroused the interest of the researchers from the same moment of his occurrence. The historic context of the moment and the impressive effects turned them into one of the scientific themes of large attention between thinkers and researchers that have fed the academic Venezuelan space. The study here presented tries to contribute to the already centenary discussion, adding new sources and hypothesis about the nature of those earthquakes and establishing a relation between the unloading of energy produced in that afternoon with other seismic events that have taken place in other dates like 1610,1674 and 1894
