The transformation of the relationship between citizens and science and technology, induced by the unusual importance of scientific innovations and techniques in contemporary society, constitutes a true challenge for science museums and centers inasmuch as they are channels mediating the social appropriation of science. These are confronted with the need to adapt and innovate with regard to the classic presentation models in order to account for the complexity of the contemporary world, and to increasingly integrate current science and the great questions of our times in the activities and forms of presentation of museums. New experiences take place in this way, where technical evolution in museum settings is combined with the integration of scientific and technical contents in a social perspective. This reflexion also covers the collaboration between institutions, with the example of experiences undertaken by the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie in establishments and programs of science and technology diffusion in different Latin American countries.
