Abstract
CONTASTI, Max. Magnitud y estructura de la influencia estadística de factores socioeconómicos sobre la talla de varones de 2 a 17 años . INCI [online]. 2004, vol.29, n.11, pp.612-616. ISSN 0378-1844.
This work is comprised within the research line relative to the combined influence of the heredity (Heredability) and the environment (Ambientality) on variables of biological, psychological and social character. The change of magnitude of the statistical influence of socioeconomic factors on the variable height was determined. This magnitude changes in each of the analyzed ages, between 2 and 17 years, and it was analyzed whether it conforms a statistical tendency in the complete range of the variable age. In order to estimate the relationship between socioeconomic factors (measured by the Graffar scale) and the variable height, the Intraclass Correlation Coefficient was used instead of the better known Pearson Correlation Coefficient. It was found that the tendency starts with a value of 5% at the age of two, increases with age in an approximately lineal manner, up to a maximum of 12% at the age eleven, and then diminishes to 9% at age twelve, remaining stable until age seventeen.
