The Combined Geoid Model MGCV04 for Venezuela has been determined by least squares collocation using the remove-restore technique. Terrestrial and marine gravity measurements, geoid undulations from GPS and the EGM96 geopotencial model have been used, including a digital terrain model derived from GTOPO30 and ETOPO5 for topographic reduction process. Considering the data density, the resolution of the model MGCV04 was fixed in 30''. The cover of the model extends from 3º to 13ºN and 286º to 299ºE. MGCV04 was compared with the models EGM96, GEOIDVEN, VGM03 and GPS derived undulations, and its accuracy has been determined in the order of ±0,2m. Nowadays, the MGCV04 is the model with best quality, resolution, and the best approximation of Venezuelan geoid characteristics.
