This paper deals with some technological elements of a typical southern Spanish watermill: the hydraulic system, the horizontal waterwheel and its industrial performance. A virtual model is used to show the above for lack of a well preserved one. The watermill in question lies in the jurisdiction of the town council of Baza (Granada, Spain) and is a fair example of the features of this type of watermills. A three-dimensional computer animation model shows how this type of watermills worked.
